SPCA Volunteer Wins 2018 Philanthropy Award!

SHOUT OUT to SPCA Volunteer, Christina Williams!

Even though it was her birthday, Christina Williams arrived at 7AM during "Clear the Shelters" event to assist with pet adoptions!

Earlier this week The Triangle Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) announced the winners of the 2018 National Philanthropy Day awards.

...and guess what? At only 16 years old, SPCA volunteer Christina Williams won the award for the Outstanding Young Philanthropist! Christina will be formally recognized and congratulated at the National Philanthropy Day celebration and award ceremony! National Philanthropy Day is a celebration of philanthropy - giving, volunteering and charitable engagement -- that highlights the the contributions that the action of our community have made in our lives, neighborhoods and world.

One of the MANY MANY ways Christina has helped the homeless pets at the SPCA was when Hurricane Harvey hit the US coast. Knowing the urgency of the situation, Christina put together a PSA to make sure pets are ready to go in case of an emergency.

This is just 1 example of the many acts of kindness and compassion Christina has done for the homeless pets of Central North Carolina and beyond. Congratulations Christina!
