The best gift of all - to belong
We have incredible news to share!
Yesterday at 5:30 pm, we sent a tabby kitten named Elicia home with her new family. She was the 4,000th pet we rescued and placed into a loving home in 2019.

It's your support that makes this possible, and we are deeply grateful for you! To make your day even better, I want to share this in-progress, heartwarming rescue story with you.

Alhanna (pictured above) was surrendered to one of SPCA Wake's partner shelters because she was pregnant. Confused and alone, Alhanna gave birth to her puppies at the shelter. Staff arrived the next day to find Alhanna and her eight puppies in the kennel. And, because of your support, we were able to take this young family into our care.

Mom and pups will spend this holiday loved and cuddled comfortably on the sofa in an SPCA Wake volunteer foster home. Alhanna’s story could have turned out very differently, but it didn’t. She has YOU to thank for her life. And the staff at our shelter partner who reached out to us for help has YOU to thank as well. They got to celebrate saving nine lives instead of having to euthanize them.

SPCA Wake is funded by compassionate donors like you, which allows us to provide vital community programs that pick up where local government agencies leave off. By working in collaboration with public shelters, we are creating BIG change for North Carolina's homeless pets.

I am so grateful for 4,000 plus lives you have helped save so far this year. Wow. Thank you! If you haven't given in 2019 or would like to give again, will you make a gift now to help pets like Alhanna? Give from the heart this holiday and donate now.

Your support will help care for abandoned pets like Alhanna and her puppies. Because of SPCA Wake donors, mom and pups will start the new year looking forward to a loving family of their own and the best gift of all – to belong.

With tremendous gratitude,

PS - Your support will truly make a difference today. Happy rescue stories like these are what you make possible when you give to SPCA Wake.
