This Happy Ending is Just the Beginning!
When Chloe first set eyes on Ro, there was an immediate connection. Ro, a three-month-old calico kitten, was climbing her kennel door, aching for an adventure. It was this wild kitten’s spark and fearless nature that drew them together. And it didn’t take long for Chloe to cement their partnership and sign on the dotted line. Who has time for tedious paperwork when the mountains are calling?
While we could go on and on about how charming this adoption story truly is, we thought it best comes from Chloe (Ro’s human) herself:
“I wanted to pass this update along for my kitten Ro (short for Rogue), formerly Ariel, who was adopted from SPCA Wake in May 2024.
Ro has grown into a beautiful seven pound fluff ball who is one of the sweetest, most gentle, cuddly cats I have ever met. She is also brave and curious and has been my adventure partner since the beginning as I am lucky to be able to work remotely and spend a lot of time traveling and in nature.
So far, Ro has been to over eight states, hiked mountains and trails, explored every pet-friendly store, brewery, and cafe we can find, and charmed every person she has met along the way.
She plays fetch, is learning commands (I’ve been lax on this lately, but she can sit and spin!), loves shoulder scratches, freeze-dried minnows, and a strict bedtime for cuddles. She is a cat unlike any other, the absolute light of my life, and I can’t imagine a world without her.
Thank you to everyone at Wake SPCA who has done so much for all these pets. I wouldn’t have Ro without your support and work, and I will be forever grateful!
Please pass along my gratitude to her foster as well if you are able, and I hope Ro’s brother and mother have found their forever homes also.
