There's a lot that goes into saving the lives of homeless pets. Some are adopted quickly. Some linger. No matter which category an animal falls into, because of your support, we never give up. 

The News & Observer spent several weekends at our Pet Adoption Center documenting the dedication of veteran volunteer, Jerry Kroll. His work as a dog matchmaker for overlooked dogs is featured on today's front page.
