The SPCA of Wake County has some incredible news to share—this fall, you’ll have multiple opportunities to bring home a new furry family member with no adoption fee, thanks to the generosity of The Rescue Effect campaign!

How It Works

During specially selected weekends, adoption fees for all pets will be fully covered by The Rescue Effect campaign. This generous support helps us remove barriers to adoption and ensures more animals spend their nights in homes instead of kennels.

When you adopt, you’re not only changing the life of your new best friend—you’re also creating space for the next pet who needs us. Every adoption opens the door for another pet to receive the care, medical attention, and comfort they deserve while waiting for a loving family.

If you’re interested in adopting but don’t have a specific pet in mind, that’s absolutely fine! You can complete a general adoption survey at spcawake.org/adopt to get on file with us. That way, when you arrive during one of our fee-waived weekends, you’ll already be one step closer to taking home your new companion.
