Pounding Ground for Homeless Pets

On Sunday, November 15th over 500 runners and their dogs lined up to pound ground to save lives!

The event was held on one of the fall's coldest mornings, but that didn't stop this group of animal-lovers. There was a sense of, "If there are homeless pets living in this weather, then we can get up and run so they don't have to." No matter how cold it was, they were on a mission!

The race raised over $28,000 for the homeless pets in the SPCA's care.

After the race the Santa (the WRAL-TV's Gerald Owens, and fellow dog lover) sat for photos with the runners and their dogs! The event photographer was SPCA volunteer, and owner of InBetween the Blinks Photography, Tara Lynn. Check out the photos of the day by clicking here!
