Donate Pet Food and Supplies
Your donated pet food and supplies can help shelter pets as well as animals and families far beyond our walls.
SPCA Wake accepts pet food, treats, toys, towels, bedding, cleaning supplies, and other needed items to support animals in our care. When resources allow, donated supplies also help pet owners facing hardship and resource-strapped shelters and rescue organizations across North Carolina.
Whether you’d like to drop off supplies locally or send needed items through an online wishlist, there are several easy ways to help.
Most-Needed Items:
Our wishlist may change based on the animals currently in our care and the needs of community programs.
Commonly needed donations include:
- unopened dog, cat, puppy, and kitten food
- treats, toys, and enrichment items
- cat litter
- towels
- cleaning and laundry supplies
- other items listed on our current wishlists

Why Monetary Gifts Go Even Further
Donated supplies are incredibly valuable and put to use throughout our programs. But when needs are urgent, a financial gift gives our team the greatest flexibility to respond.
Cash donations allow SPCA Wake to purchase the exact food, medical supplies, and other items animals need at that moment. Because we can often buy in bulk and access nonprofit pricing, your donated dollar has more purchasing power than it would at a retailer.
Financial gifts also allow us to respond quickly when hundreds of animals need help, when an unexpected medical or supply need arises, or when partner shelters request urgent assistance.
How Donated Supplies are Used
Helping Shelter Pets
Food, treats, toys, enrichment items, cleaning supplies, bedding, and other donated goods help support animals staying at SPCA Wake while they receive care and wait for new homes.
Keeping Pets With Families
Pet food and supplies are also shared with families facing temporary hardship. A bag of food or basic pet supplies can help someone get through a difficult period without having to give up a beloved companion.
Supporting N.C. Shelters
We redistribute extra supplies to resource-strapped animal shelters and rescue organizations across North Carolina. These supplies can help stretch already-tight budgets and support animals during periods of unusually high need.
