2018 Fur Ball FAQ

We are thrilled to see you Sunday, October 14th at the Pavillion at the Angus Barn for the 2018 SPCA Fur Ball Gala.

ATTIRE: This is a formal event. For men, black tie is preferred but not required. Get fancy and be ready to have fun as we will have a professional photographer taking photos during your arrival in the sunset reception tent. See what people have worn in the past.

PARKING: Valet staff will be ready to greet you at the Pavilion. You will enter into the open-air reception area while the valet staff park your car. At the end of the evening, valet will be ready to pull your car around for you.

HOW TO BID: Placing bids and viewing the great selection of auction items is easy on your smartphone with our bidding partner – BidPal.

You will receive a text message with a link. Click on the link, connect a credit/debit card and start bidding via your smartphone’s browser.

We will have event volunteers available at check-in to help guests who do not register prior to Sunday evening.

*Have an item you really want, but don't want to keep checking your phone to see if you are outbid? You can set a maximum bid for that item with BidPal. BidPal will continue bidding on your behalf until item reaches your max bid.

SILENT AUCTION | Now-8:00 p.m. Sunday

Each item in the silent auction is listed on your smartphone with a photo and description. Bidding for the silent auction ends at 8:00 p.m. When the auction closes, you will see a list of items that you have won. These will be available for pickup at the end of the live auction (around 9:30 p.m.).

LIVE AUCTION | 8:00-9:00 p.m.

The live auction begins at 8:00 p.m. and continues until all items are sold. To make a bid, raise your hand or bid paddle into the air. Please keep your hand up until recognized by the auctioneer. The auctioneer will acknowledge the highest winning bid.

CHECKOUT | 9:00 p.m.

Payment in full on the evening of the auction is required to take your items home. Payment may be made by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express. If you wish to use the credit card provided at the time of check-in, we will speed you through check-out! All sales are final; please take your items home with you after the event.

Special Raffle - The Making of Harry Potter in London  

Go behind the scenes and into the footsteps of your favorite Harry Potter characters. You have a chance to win this once-in-a-lifetime experience for just $50 a raffle ticket.

  • Raffle tickets are only $50 and there are only 125 tickets being sold.
  • The drawing will be held once 125 tickets are sold or on Oct. 31st, whichever comes first.
