The group is facilitated Rob Gierka, a non-denominational chaplain (email: While beneficial, the SPCA Pet Loss Support Group is not intended to replace professional counseling services or physician recommendations. It simply provides a space for sharing with others who have shared in the experience of the loss of a pet.

The meetings are open to all who are interested.

I have created the first tactile transitional tool (grief-kit) for pet-loss support. I would love to get any feedback on if you think this is something that might be beneficial to your clients who are going through this devastating time.

I would also like to add this support group to my resource page on my website…please let me know if this would work for you.

    With Gratitude,

Thank you Amy! I will pass along to the person who leads our support group!
