In five separate 60-minute lessons, the common core aligned No More Bullying! curriculum reinforces fundamental character principles including respect, responsibility, integrity, compassion, and kindness.  During the lessons, students have opportunities to share their own experiences, to journal their feelings, and to think critically about the topics discussed.  No More Bullying! also includes an extra-special feature.  A live companion animal will be present for every lesson to provide an unconditionally loving and non-judgmental study partner for the students to practice with.

Researchers have been studying the connection between various forms of violence for many years. We know that bullying, domestic violence, and animal cruelty are linked in a deadly cycle. The No More Bullying! program teaches students to recognize bullying when they see it and to take safe and effective actions to stop it. The knowledge and skills gained empower children to create a safer and more respectful environment, and to model the behaviors that may prevent bullying in the first place.

SPCA Wake can bring the No More Bullying! program to select elementary school campuses in Wake County,* or you can arrange presentations for your group at our Pet Adoption Center. The flexible curriculum is designed to be delivered as a package in 5 one-hour sessions, but if you prefer, you can schedule single lessons instead. No More Bullying! presentations are ideal for before-and-after-school programs, teacher workdays, half-days, homeschool classes, scouting groups, summer school outings, and many more. It’s also perfect for teachers to include as a valuable, unique addition to their regularly planned classroom curricula.

SPCA Wake is dedicated to creating a more humane community for animals and people alike. The No More Bullying! program gives us the opportunity to share the message of compassion directly with youngsters as their values and belief systems are developing. We know that kindness leads to more kindness, and we believe more kindness is the key to breaking the cycle of violence and abuse.

*Available in select locations only; subject to change. Call or email for details.
